Birdy shows

And so….. It was Plato that said – “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” Birdy says he couldn’t have said it better himself… And talking of wings… If you have ever seen The Birdman doing his stuff live across Europe and in his homeland in the UK – then no introduction is required. But for those that haven’t had the pleasure a bit of his back story…

He started spinning at underground parties across London in the mid-eighties by blending genres such as Soul – Jazz Funk – Ska – Hip Hop and House music but his focus was on blending music and entertainment to his sets by wearing outrageous outfits (inc what has become his ‘symbol’ – a giant set of wings) and having fun…

He took a musical hiatus throughout the 90’s before returning in the early 00’s being invited to reignite and bring back his passion for music at many clubs across London once more. This led to the inception of his infamous ‘Aviary’ nights and the opportunity to play alongside many of his djing heroes inc Frankie Knuckles, Froggy, Carl Cox, Terry Jones, Kerri Chandler, Bob Masters, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar, Brandon Block, Ron Carroll and Fedde le Grand to name but a few.

Also starting the record label Far Horizon Records with Music producer Matt Early proved to be a successful sojourn and one he wants to spend time nurturing again real soon… In recent years Birdy has played on many Festivals and International events such as Ibiza Soul Week, HOPEfest, Night at the Playboy Mansion, Summer Soulstice, Summer Breeze Soul Week, Strawberry Woods Festival and Salou Soul. Spanning those years has also been his inclusion on many of the UK’s leading music stations inc Stomp Radio, House Fm, Zero Radio , Starpoint Radio, Jazz Funk Soul Radio and Colne Fm.

He is now looking forward to using all bringing that experience and his mother over of uplifting music to host the coverted Traxsource Show here on Boogie Bunker Radio every Wednesday 3-5pm (GMT).

So put on your dancing shoes wherever you may be and come and join Birdy in ‘full flight’ each and every Wednesday. You’ll be glad you did. x ^0^ x
